This poor sweetie has been through the ringer. She was saved from an animal cruelty situation by a compassionate law enforcement officer, who observed that she was being starved, and denied medical help for an injury.
Once the case was resolved and custody of this girl was awarded to the city, she then found herself on the kill list, up for euthanasia. Saved only to be killed, an ironic and pathetic situation. We could not let it happen to her, so in the literal, eleventh hour a hold was placed for rescue.
Pearl suffered injuries to a rear leg in addition to being emaciated. Upon having surgery today, 4/18/13, it was discovered that she had actually been shot.
It is very rare that we get the full story with rescued animals sometimes, as with Pearl, it unfolds more as we start the medical care. On top of everything else, she is Heartworm positive, and has to be treated for a skin condition. Funds are needed to assist with her boarding and regaining health. She is now at Auburn Kennels #713 465 6425 if anyone wants to donate to her care. She went for a long walk with me yesterday; she is calm, very obiedient and will be a great companion! She has a name****Pearl**** let us know if you like her name.
