This is supposed to be the season for miracles, second chances, and renewals and there is hope that just maybe this is it for Penny.
Penny was found dumped in the back of a retail pet store tied to the trash dumpster on a rainy day in Houston, TX.
Someone decided she was no longer needed that there was no further use for her and out she went. The kind employees at the store found her, brought her inside, cleaned her up, and then contacted a Shelter Pets Go Home volunteer named Theresa and begged for help. How could she say no, especially after finding out the way in which this sweet senior girl was dumped?

Penny is a purebred Labrador Retriever, approximately nine-ten years old, she is a very calm, and loving girl who just wants a home to retire in. She has been fully vetted and is currently in boarding at Pet Paradise, courtesy of Theresa. We are asking for help for Penny either in the form of sponsors for her boarding, the cost is $10 a day, or a foster, or--the ultimate holiday wish--a forever loving home for her. Penny should not have to spend her days in a kennel, though they love her, she deserves a warm bed and a loving heart to reside in. If you can sponsor her boarding, please do so using the Paypal button labeled "Send Help" on this page. If you would like to foster or possibly adopt Penny, you can send us a message using the Contact link. Please share Penny's story with your friends, co-workers, and family, via email, Facebook, Twitter, etc.---there just might be that person willing to have compassion and open up their family to her. Penny is located in Houston, Texas, geography not necessarily an issue if the right home is out there. Please contact: teatherly@att.net if you would like to consider opening your home to Penny.

Has this dear old gal been adopted yet?
No, she has not been.
I can't believe someone could do anything bad to an animal. She need to be in a loving home that will take care of her and spoil her to pieces. Has no one asked to adopt her? I live in Massachusetts but would love to have her.
VERY well said.............it's called Karma, sweet, sweet Karma
Penny was adopted yesterday.
Hooray for Penny. I hope she has a good life now.
